May 2017 Status Update

Life continues to go smoothly for me in 2017. I have graduated from my contractor status to become an official Disney employee, where I continue to maintain some of their most popular mobile games. I’ve also relocated to Burbank in order to be closer to the office, and I’m enjoying it so far.

On the topic of my free time projects, I’ve put Second Shot development on hold while I focus on other goals, but I have every intention to return to this title when the time is right. One major area of work for me currently is the development of a custom Unity code library. In fact, some of this uses my Second Shot logic re-written in C#, so there’s a possibility that when Second Shot re-emerges, it will be ported from GameMaker: Studio to Unity! Additionally, I’m weighing the possibilities of making this library open source (e.g. on GitHub) or selling it on the Asset Store, but I want to flesh out the features some more before I venture into that territory.

There are some exciting things for me down the road, but it will take some time to get there. I’ll be sure to share it with you all when it happens!
